Tatiana's heart has stopped 5 times. Please help!
Little Tatiana Babchuk has been through so much in her short life. Born healthy in Kyiv, Ukraine, in October of 2020, she has had 5 frightening episodes of temporary cardiac arrest since then. Local doctors have been unable to diagnose her condition so far. They were all set to perform open-heart surgery on her on February 24, 2022–a date known to all Ukrainians. It was the day the war started in Ukraine.
As a temporary precaution, baby Tatiana was fitted with a pacemaker in early March at just 1.5 years old. Since then, she and her family have had to escape the war by fleeing to Canada. Tatiana is still undiagnosed and has recently developed a bad cough. The Canadian doctors have not diagnosed her condition, and, of course, her mother is frantic. This fundraiser is being created to provide the means necessary for little Tatiana to receive a complete cardiac assessment and treatment for her unknown condition by specialist doctors. Let's get this child back on track to a more healthy childhood. Let's help her mother find the best care for her baby.

1/20/2023 - Little Tetiana has had a few more episodes of short breathing stoppages/heart pauses, causing her pacemaker to activate in the past few weeks. She has been rushed to the Emergency room twice. After more efforts of trying to get a diagnosis from the local children's hospital and running into a miserably slow healthcare system, an unsympathetic doctor, and an MRI machine that is incompatible with the child's implanted Loop Recorder, plans are being made to fly mom and child to a different hospital.

The push to get Tatiana seen by cardiologists, neurologists and other pediatric doctors so that her life-threatening condition can be diagnosed starts tomorrow, December 12, 2022. The plan - to get Tatiana an initial appointment at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. This Ukrainian refugee family of 4 with 2 young children, Matthew, 4, and Tatiana, 2, has been through a lot so far, but more must be done quickly before Tatiana has another critical episode. Time is definitely of the essence.

I apologize - this is a little difficult to watch. We need to get Tatiana to expert cardiology doctors as soon as possible so her mom can discover what’s wrong with her heart and what the best course of treatment is. So far, none of the doctors she’s seen has been able to diagnose her condition.

Tatiana has spent too much time in hospitals and doctors' offices not to know what causes her suffering. We need to get her to cardiac experts and finally get a diagnosis of her condition so that the best therapy can be given to her.
